Dear 17-24-30 Supporter,
Welcome to our first mailing since we registered as a small charity with HM Revenue & Customs. Reference XT30898.
Our next fund-raising event will take place Sunday evening 1st April at the 2 Brewers, Clapham.
The theme is Hate Crime – it’s no joke! Click here to join our fund-raising event page.
The money raised will help fund this year’s April Acts of Remembrance, which will take place as follows:
And finance our Summer Hate Crime Awareness Campaign, encouraging local communities to do more to tackle hate crime and help promote local services.
Leading towards our fourth Vigil against Hate Crime which will take place in October. Click here.
On the 23rd July, I will be carrying the Olympic Flame through Lewisham after being nominated for my work setting up this charity. This is a great honour, and I will carry the flame in memory of all those who have been victims of hate – including Andrea Dykes, Nik Moore and John Light who died during the Soho nail bomb, Sinders who was murdered by teenagers on the Southbank, and Ian Bayham who died after being homophobically beaten and abused in Trafalgar Square. I hope you’ll come and cheer me on.
We need to continue to build upon what we have achieved together so far, and encourage more people to get involved and tackle hate within our communities.
