Anti-gay Area grafitti opposite the Royal Vauxhall Tavern

Yesterday (21/06/12) whilst walking through Vauxhall I noticed “Anti-gay Area” graffiti on some street furniture near the passageway under the railway arches opposite the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.

I wonder how long it has been there and whether or not anyone else has noticed it.

Anyway – have e-mailed Eren and Angel, the two Lambeth LGBT Police Liaison Officers who cover the area and copied in Yvonne Okyio (Lambeth Council’s Hate Crime co-ordinator).

Hopefully they can investigate and check the local CCTV, and make arrangements to have the Graffiti removed. Has anyone else noticed anything similar around the Vauxhall area?

  1. Hi, yes I’ve also noticed it. I also saw the same daubed on one of the bus stops further up by Tesco.
