Michael Hall and Michael Roike survive hate crime attack in D.C.

 Sunday 22nd July 2012

The attack came quickly and without warning, a barrage of punches that sent Michael Hall to the pavement, fracturing the right side of his cheekbone and leaving his face swollen and lined with surgical stitches.

Michael Roike said he swung wildly to fend off the onslaught, trying to protect his 29-year-old longtime partner as they walked two blocks from their apartment in the Eckington neighborhood of Northeast D.C.

Friends have rallied round and set up a fund for Michael Joe Hall to help him cover any medical fees (click here for link to PayPal donation page)

Residents respond by organising march on 9th August 2012
