Got some free time and want to help us tackle hate crime? Become a 17-24-30 volunteer today!
Our organisation is run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff. Our volunteers currently meet regularly once a week to work on projects and plan activities. We provide induction, training, support, development and hot and cold drinks.
No previous experience is required. Volunteers get training and on-going support. You will learn a lot and get the opportunity to make a real difference tackling hate crime across the country.
For more information contact our Volunteer Coordinator James @17-24-30.org
Event volunteers help us organise and stage the April Acts of Remembrance, National Hate Crime Awareness Week and our annual fundraising event. We are also planning to take part in other Equality Calendar events this year.
Admin volunteers can carry out a range of tasks such as dealing with post, filing, monitoring the press, desk-based research, liaising with 17-24-30 contacts and distributing and assisting in the production of campaign materials.
Our current Admin volunteer roles are currently based around our London base, and opportunities are available on Tuesday afternoons 1 pm to 4 pm, some weekday evenings 6 pm to 8 pm and Saturday mornings 10 am to 12 midday.
We particularly need people who have, or wish to develop their social media skills, helping us produce our regular newsletters, update our websites and manage our social media campaigns.
Whilst we don’t currently provide support services – our volunteers help signpost people on to other organisations who provide specialist information, advice and advocacy services.
Our current volunteering opportunities are based in London. If you live outside of the area the best way to support our work is by fundraising for us.
You can find out more about our fundraising projects here.
We are looking for people who are interested in becoming Trustees. We currently have four Trustees but hope to recruit a couple of people to train and develop into the role over the course of the next year.
