James Parkes was attacked by a gang of up to 20 teenagers and left critically injured outside a gay bar Superstar Boudoir on Stanley Street, Liverpool, on the 25th October 2009. He suffered multiple skull fractures, fractures of his eye-socket and cheek bone and spent weeks in hospital.
